About My Nails

My nails are 100% real, and yes, I really do keep them this long all the time! I do, however, have light pink & white acrylics applied over my real nails, to keep them from breaking.  The pink & white is also a "permanent" French Mani, so you can actually leave the house with naked nails, but they will look perfectly manicured!  Anyway, if my nails look "thick" to you, this is why. But I assure you, those are not plastic nails under that acrylic. ;-)

I get my acrylics filled every week or so, as my nails and my hair grow at breakneck speed.  I have the entire acrylic layer removed and redone with fresh white tips about once or twice a month.

An important note about the pink & white acrylics...don't get this done unless you can get to the salon at least 2 - 3 times per month to get them filled, AND to get the white re-done (as your nails grow, the white grows out and looks odd...). If you can't commit to the time and expense, don't get the white tips...just have your tech use either the pale pink or the white powder from cuticle to tip. Pink & white acrylics are ridiculously high-maintenance...but they are also a permanent French mani, so it's a tough call...just be ready to make a long-term commitment to your nail tech!!

I am by no means a professional nail tech. I simply like creating "art" with nail polish. I've created this blog to share my work, and to help you do your own nail art....tutorials are included in each photo album under each pic. I will take pics as I go, to assist in visually understanding the tutorials.
By day, I am a freelance photographer, with my focus mainly on Motocross and Supercross.  I also do some portrait work, and of course all my nail art photos.  I do have Photoshop, but that is only used to sharpen pictures.  None of the pics you see here are color-corrected; only sharpened and cropped.  All photos are taken at the highest quality setting, with a professional DSLR camera.

You may use my photos, but you may NOT crop out my watermark, and you must please link back to my blog!  Because I am a professional photographer, I have taken all the necessary steps to Copyright my work.
Feel free to email me with any questions, or any great ideas you have that you'd like to see me try!
